Why Your NP300 Deserves a Real Airbox Upgrade

04 August 2026

If you have already fitted a snorkel to your Nissan Navara NP300, there is a good chance your factory airbox is still holding your intake back. It was built to a price for a stock vehicle, not for dust, water crossings or a raised air intake. A proper aftermarket airbox is the part that finishes the job.

What the factory airbox gets wrong

The stock NP300 airbox uses plastic clips, thin seals and a tight, restrictive housing. It was designed around a sealed engine bay, not a vehicle that is wading through creeks or eating dust on a corrugated track. Once you add a snorkel, the airbox becomes the weak link. Water and dust can still find their way past worn factory seals, and the restrictive housing limits the airflow gains your snorkel is meant to deliver.

What a proper aftermarket airbox fixes

Our Nissan Navara NP300 D23 Aftermarket Airbox is made in Melbourne from 2.5mm 5005 aluminium, not plastic. It is built for a cleaner, stronger and more consistent intake setup, with a few things the factory box will never have:

  • 100% watertight and dustproof design, so water crossings and dusty tracks stop being a worry.
  • Under a 30 minute install, with push fit feet into the factory mounts.
  • CAD flow tested for performance. No tuning required after fitment.
  • A drain valve with a cleanable bung system, so trapped moisture has somewhere to go.
  • Factory snorkel compatible, working with 4 inch and 4.5 inch snorkels, with 3 inch available on request.
  • An ECU relocation bracket included in the box.

Beyond the technical side, it also cleans up the engine bay. A tidy, purpose built airbox sitting next to your snorkel looks like it belongs there, because it does.

Built to last, not just to fit

Every airbox is made in Melbourne and backed by a lifetime warranty. That is not a marketing line, it is how we build everything, from snorkels through to airboxes and accessories. For best results we always recommend professional installation, but most owners are surprised at how straightforward the fit is thanks to the factory mount points.

Which one suits your build

The NP300 airbox comes in six configurations, from a no filter or single pod filter setup through to a twin pod filter version, with optional 1L or 3.5L catch capacity. If you are running a single snorkel, the single pod filter option covers most builds. Twin snorkel setups should look at the twin pod filter versions.

If your snorkel has been in for a while and the factory airbox is still doing the heavy lifting, it is worth finishing the upgrade properly. Australian made, lifetime warranty, and Afterpay available if you would rather spread the cost.
